Sr. Ultrasound Sonographer - CAAHEP Ultrasound graduate, AB and OB/GYn Registry

Job Description:Must have flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate to other UCSF sites and work shifts (8, 10 or 12 hour), also cover for weekends and holidays and on-call shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for interpretation.Obtain appropriate patient clinical information from requesting physician and/or service prior to performing exam.Prepare patient for imaging.Prepare room and equipment prior to imaging and after completion of exam.Demonstrate appropriate self-critique of exams to include ability to recognize sub-optimal techniques and equipment malfunctions.Meet physical requirements to perform all aspects of diagnostic sonography studies in the inpatient as well as outpatient settings, including but not limited to: performing portable exams, transferring and transporting gurney and wheelchair.Maintain RDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.Minimum Requirements:Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.BLS - Basic Life Support.Requires (2-5) years UCSF experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, and or equivalent experience in a similar Ultrasound department at UCSF.New hires who meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials held must also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills; the Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at the discretion of the Section Chief and Section Supervisor.Skills and Certifications:ARDMS in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.Previous ultrasound experience.BLS Certification.Graduated from a CAHEEP accredited ultrasound program.Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
