The Paint Supervisor will be responsible for providing support for all aspects of the Paint Operations Department. The Paint Supervisor will oversee and direct paint activities in the facilities and production areas and services in order to obtain optimum productivity and quality levels while complying with customer specifications.

The Paint Supervisor will report directly to the Area Manager. The Supervisor will be required to support multiple projects, safety and product improvements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise daily paint operations to ensure production goals are met.
  • Coordinate and monitor paint line activities.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Ensure team members are properly trained on paint processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Identify areas of process optimization and suggest improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to implement equipment and process upgrades.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all paint line employees adhere to safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Prepare and submit daily production and performance reports to management.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide input on paint-related processes and improvements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and skill development within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of paint department processes and principles, including latest technologies
  • Fanuc P150 and P250 experience a plus
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience a plus
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, IATF 16949 requirements
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong knowledge:
  • machining / tooling
  • electrical / schematics
  • pneumatic/hydraulics
  • General knowledge of production control / scheduling systems
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical / problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis
  • General MS-Office skills, Excel and Access

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one year's automotive manufacturing experience
