This role is crucial for the management, optimization, and maintenance of our Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) databases. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in SQL Server, SSMS, and T-SQL, coupled with advanced skills in query optimization and cloud database services, especially within AWS. If you have a solid background in database administration and are adept at working with pre-existing code bases in a collaborative team environment, we encourage you to apply.Key Responsibilities:Database Administration: Administer and maintain MSSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations. Monitor and troubleshoot database issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Query Optimization: Analyze and optimize SQL queries to enhance database performance. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and implement best practices for query tuning.Cloud Database Management: Deploy and manage databases on AWS RDS and other cloud platforms. Ensure database scalability, availability, and performance in cloud environments.Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with development teams to support database needs and resolve issues. Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to database strategy and planning.Code Base Management: Troubleshoot and resolve issues within pre-existing code bases. Refactor and optimize T-SQL code to adhere to best practices and improve performance.Technical Expertise: Apply expert knowledge of SQL Server, SSMS, and T-SQL in day-to-day tasks. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in database management.Required Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Graduate degree preferred.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DBA role, focusing on MSSQL databases. Demonstrated expertise in SQL query optimization and performance tuning. Experience with AWS RDS and other cloud-based database services.Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL Server, SSMS, T-SQL, and query optimization. Experience managing databases in cloud environments. Ability to work with and improve pre-existing code bases.Soft Skills: Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
