What the day will look likeThe Aon Burlington, Vermont office is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of a portfolio of insurance companies. The accountant will work closely with a broader team of professionals ensuring all the compliance, finance, and accounting requirements are met. The following requirements are identified as crucial for success in the role:Preparing the financial statements for a portfolio of diverse accountsPreparing regulatory filings and premium tax returnsPreparing supporting materials for annual Board meetingsReconciling loss and investment report dataOverseeing cash management for assigned portfolioSupporting and collating key financial information for captive audits/examinationsEnsuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and regulatory filings

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Experience in preparing financial statements with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or related experiencesProven ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independentlyExperience managing several projects simultaneouslyBachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or equivalent years of industry experiencePreferred to have accounting/business experienceEffective communicator, both verbally and in writingThrive in a team environment and able to work well independently

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $48,000 - $90,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
