Key Position Details:Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider to join the practice based at United Hospital in St. Paul.1.0 position. 40 hours per week10 hour work daysOutpatient position.This role will primarily support general cardiology.Position includes weekend rounding in the hospital approximately 3-4 weekends per year.EMR: Epic is one of the most comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) systems in the nation.Job Description:Principle Responsibilities:Completes comprehensive patient assessmentsDetermines diagnosis and treatment of illnessOrders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physicianPrescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipmentConducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness careRequired Qualifications:Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Preferred Qualifications:New graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology or ICU.
Licenses/Certifications:Master's degree completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program requiredCertification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA -National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) - American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hireLicensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain).BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire.Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges.
