With a commitment to our vision that strong relationships drive strong results and better business, our people make Cooper Machinery Services legendary.Job Overview:The Machinist III/IV - 2nd shift is responsible for operating machinery to support production of many different wheels, axles, and various tooling needs while maintaining safe work practices and assisting the Manufacturing team.Timings of 2nd shift are : 1:00 PM to 9:30 PMEssential Duties and Responsibilities:The Machinist III/IV - 2nd shift will be responsible for the following:Manually Machine parts to specifications using tools such as Manual Horizontal Mill and Manual lathesRead blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workPerform dimensional layout on all machined parts to confirm conformity to prints and other routing instructions. Ensure applicable documentation is complete i.e., sign off on job card, SIS (Source Inspections Sheets) etc., and computer entryLoad and touch off tooling applicable to programIdentify multiple surface finishesDeburr and stamp parts to specificationsAlign and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, jaw attachments, accessories, and materials onto machinesMonitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properlyMaintain a clean work area to include emptying waste container, used oil, sweeping chips, replace broken palletsRead job card and determine product to be produced, instructions, specifications, actual machining time, quantities, etc.Adjust machine offsets i.e., wear, geometry, cutter comp, work shift, etc.Observe all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and all safety rules / requirements such as machining guards, lifting techniques, slips and falls prevention, etc.Operate assigned machine (Mill, Lathe) independently with little to no guidance to include applicable set upRun multiple types of machinesOperate all machine tools as requiredUse advanced trade mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings,Specifications and all varieties of precision measuring instrumentsComplete all other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institutionMinimum 3-5 years of experience in machining, CNC experience and/or automated machining experience in oil & gas, power, heavy equipment, or automation & controls preferredAdvanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as dial and Vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, ball mics, etc.Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds physically able to perform labor, prolonged periods of standing, bending, or kneeling to meet the requirement of working in the parts warehouse to put items on the shelf for storageWork in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activitiesAdapt to constantly evolving work requirements in a team environmentWork overtime, weekends and holidays, as requiredCertification to operate a forklift, pallet jack and craneVo Tech CertificateKnowledge in the following areas: Oilfield assemblies and partsAbility to read and understand instructions; quality control; and safetyEffective verbal, written communications skillsBasic math and computer skillsAbility to read, evaluate and respond to product specifications and drawingsFamiliar and comfortable with various types of metal cutting machinery (mechanically inclined)Competencies:Safety focusedService-orientedBusiness focusedA self-starterDependableStrong teamwork skillsResults orientedSense of urgencyCooper Machinery Services is an equal opportunity employer and gives all qualified applicants consideration of employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, any other characteristic protected by law.Other details Pay Type Hourly Apply Now
