Job Details

The Power Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. Lead process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team. Support manufacturing and maintenance through MDI process & continuous improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot technical problems. Project manager for expense and CAPX projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to the following:nalyzing equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends applying engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence including develop/revise PM’s with proper granularity and cadence.

Devise PM strategies and spare parts lists.

Conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment in effort to maximize equipment uptime and throughput.

Developing and implementing new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair.

Designing and implementing new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.

Finding new technologies and processes that can improve equipment performance and reliability.

Collaborating with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.

Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead. Utilizing fundamentals of project management, i.e. scope, specification, design review, budget and WBS/Schedule governed by change management. Knowledge of FEL process a plus.

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely manner; delegate as needed.

Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time

Improve equipment reliability and operation through analysis of data and experimental evaluation

Implementing appropriate plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency to include waste, speed, delay, and raw material usage using Lean Manufacturing principles.

Manage the coordination, implementation and standardization of manufacturing process improvement and tooling.

Perform work measurement studies, including time studies, process capability studies and uptime studies to meet pre-determined goals prior to formal handoff of project to manufacturing.

Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, which may include being facilitator of a team or group of teams.

Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment.

Research, justify, design and implement new processes, tooling, and equipment.

Procurement activities including obtaining bids, evaluating bids, and making purchase recommendations.

Design countermeasures and engineering trials; verify effectiveness of corrective actions.

Requirements:

4 year degree, engineering preferred.

Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in leading various types of projects major equipment outages and installation of new equipment and processes directing internal and or external resources.

Able to facilitate and complete root cause analysis (8-D, 5 why) and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.

Strong computer skills, AutoCAD, proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Must be detail oriented with strong communication and analytical skills.
