Job Description

About this job:

To operate within defined authority to assess, analyze, accept, and assist in the underwriting of a profitable treaty portfolio in Latin America on behalf of PartnerRe.

Responsible for a multi-line book composed of Property, Casualty, Marine, Motor and Engineering business as well as the coordination with other Specialty Lines Business Units within PartnerRe in order to provide Client and Brokers a full set of expertise and capabilities.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Management :To be aware of, and comply with, the appropriate regulatory requirements for the territory / territories operated inThrough the provision of high quality and efficient services, establish and develop relationships with clients and brokersBe willing and able to travel for business purposes, including overseas visitsActively participate in the development and execution of the Unit's business planDemonstrate a high level of competency in the analysis and examination of data, trends and market dynamics.Support and represent PartnerRe on market gatherings and events.To operate as an effective team member to support colleagues across other PartnerRe business and service units to assist in the delivery and achievement of wider corporate objectivesWhere applicable, operate, evaluate, and improve existing pricing tools and assumptionsDevelop and attract new business in line with the Unit's business plan and PartnerRe strategyMaintain awareness of PartnerRe's product range and take advantage of opportunities to introduce other PartnerRe's expertise and capabilities to clientsUnderwriting Management :

Review, negotiate, accept or decline risks on behalf of the Company.Ensure all business is thoroughly evaluated and rated, and that risks written adhere to the PartnerRe Underwriting Guidelines, appetite, standards, and individual Authority LimitsEnsure management and reporting of portfolio aggregates are in line with appetite and tolerances as per the Unit's business planQualifications

About you:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent formal education qualificationFluency in Spanish and English is required. Portuguese will be a plus.Minimum 7 - 10 years underwriting experience from either an insurance or reinsurance background.Good track record in business development and good strong individual risk underwriting skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent critical reasoning, numerical reasoning, problem solving, analytical and creative thinking skillsTechnical and presentation skills suitable for a professional environment
