Job ID: 2798173 | Amazon.com Services LLCAs a Principal Scientist in Ring and Blink, you will have deep subject matter expertise in the areas of Artificial Intelligence. You will work with multiple teams of scientists and engineers to translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables. More specifically, you will provide thought leadership on and lead strategic efforts in Computer Vision (CV) and Machine Learning (ML) areas for Ring and Blink, covering themes including but not limited to 3D vision, SLAM, Classic Deep Learning, and Generative AI, and work with Product, Science, and Engineering teams to deliver short- and long-term CV/ML solutions in production for optimized edge-based solutions to large-scale models. Finally, you will work with academic partners to support our in-house talent with direct access to cutting edge research and mentoring.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
PhD, or Master's degree and 10+ years of Computer Vision and Machine Learning or related field experienceExperience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languageConduct independent research and development work on advanced computer vision and robotics components covering key product critical perception features such as visual-inertial odometry, SLAM, bundle adjustment, loop closure, sparse and dense environment mapping, and 3D reconstruction.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journalsDeep expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning as applied to both edge-based classic deep learning approaches and large-scale generative models.Proficiency in programming for algorithm and code reviews.Track record of shipping complex projects in algorithm design and product development.Experience working with real-world data sets and building scalable algorithm solution from big data.Strong prior experience with mentorship and/or management of senior scientists and engineers.Exhibits excellent business judgment; balances business, product, and technology very well.Effective verbal and written communication skills with non-technical and technical audiences.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
