UW Medical Center-Montlake has an opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for our Level IV Neonatal ICU.
Responsibilities:(but not limited to)
Provides leadership to nursing team members.Acts as a clinical expert and resource for nursing care for the neonatal patient.Provides information and resources to enhance nursing practice and elevate nursing skills.Leads the development of evidence-based protocols and policies, promotes clinical standards and practice improvements, and evaluates outcomes.Advances neonatal nursing by sharing expertise and knowledge through publications and presentations at professional meetings/conferences.Leads selected projects or programs focusing on quality and patient safety initiatives.Fosters collegial relationships with members of the CNS UW Medical Center team and in other hospitals or agencies.Collaborates with nursing staff and managers to assess nursing practice and identify staff learning needs.Maintains certification(s) and participates in continuing education activities.Promotes the professional advancement of the nursing team.

Requirements:Master of Nursing or higher.Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing.Licensed to practice in the state of WA as an RN.Five or more years of nursing experience.Five or more years of recent level IV NICU experience.Certification RNC-NIC or CCRN-Neonatal.Equivalent experiences and education may be substituted for required education.
