New Profit is launching a $17M Postsecondary Innovation for Equity (PIE) initiative to accelerate the efforts of social entrepreneurs to re-architect pathways to economic mobility for underrepresented young people. (By “underrepresented,” we mean young people from low-income communities who are acquiring postsecondary credentials at a much lower rate than young people from high-income communities.) Focusing on innovations that weave together acquisition of postsecondary credentials with access to upwardly mobile careers, the PIE Initiative is a part of Learn to Earn, New Profit’s postsecondary and career strategy.The first phase of the PIE Initiative, the Beacon Cohort, will bring together 21 innovative organizations to advance individual and collective learning, build organizational capacity to collect and report outcomes data, and develop a blueprint for how entrepreneurship can advance equity in postsecondary education.About the Position

The Associate Partner will be responsible for the strategy and operations of the Beacon Cohort of the PIE Initiative, including the following:Advance individual and collective learning among Beacon granteesGet to know grantee organizations and social entrepreneurs; understand their challenges and opportunities.Design, plan, and lead execution of convenings that speak to the interests and concerns of grantees and funders.Broker access to New Profit resources that help grantees advance their work.Cultivate and facilitate a strong community that results in widespread information sharing, support, and collaboration.Build Beacon grantee’s capacity to collect and report outcomes dataUnderstand outcomes data collection, analysis, and reporting among grantees and what kinds of support they need to advance their efforts.Identify outcomes measurement consultants who can help grantees advance their efforts; manage consultants and broker consultations with grantees.Work with grantees and consultants to figure out how to validate outcomes measures; broker relationships between grantees and validating organizations.Ensure the Beacon Cohort meets its goal: grantees report semi-standardized, validated, employment and income data for graduates by December 2021.Contribute to the vision and success of Learn to EarnContinuously learn about innovative approaches to helping underrepresented learners acquire postsecondary credentials and access upwardly mobile careers.Contribute to Learn to Earn’s ongoing strategy development, including the design and selection of the Core Cohort of the PIE Initiative.Write occasional op-ed pieces aimed at education trade media publications, to shine a light on grantees and share insights from their work.Collaborate with other Learn to Earn Initiative staff to build strong relationships with funders.Who We Are Looking ForDemonstrated passion and commitment to the PIE Initiative mission.Commitment to and experience leading initiatives focused on racial and socio-economic equity, and elevating leaders of color in the social sector.Excellent listening skills; demonstrated capacity to take insights from listening and use them to inform the design of a program or initiative.Demonstrated ability to foster community and collaboration among organizations and individuals.Ability to communicate with and influence a wide range of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.Experience and comfort with quantitative analysis.Demonstrated ability to lead projects to success; ability to set goals and priorities, facilitate decisions, and manage people and resources effectively.Ability and willingness to switch between work that requires high level strategic thinking, and work that is more focused in logistics, operations and execution.A lively, curious and creative intellect; a style that includes adaptability and a sense of humor.How to Apply
