Senior Employee Relations Consultant/Human ResourcesResponsibilities:• Advise and consult business unit management, HR, and employees on various employee relations issues, including employment laws, employee counseling, violations of policy, progressive discipline, involuntary terminations, and interpretation and administration of corporate human resource policies and procedures.• Manage employment investigative processes under the direction of attorney(s) when necessary.• Identify, analyze, avoid, and resolve employee relations problems via investigative, committee, and project work.• Conduct investigations (under the attorney-client privilege when necessary) into sensitive/complex employment situations; provide guidance to management and HR regarding employee counseling, progressive discipline, and involuntary terminations.• Serve as a resource/expert on employee relations, interpreting company and business unit policies, and consulting with management, Sr. HR Risk and Compliance Officer, Legal, and Employee Services.• Facilitate improvements in policies, practices, and procedures based on learnings from investigations.• Participate in special committees to formulate/discuss Human Resources policy for the bank and to address/resolve violations of company policy.• Assist ER Manager and EEO Officer in EEO record-keeping and analyzing trends.• Identify specific business unit employee relations needs and implement solutions.• Mentor junior Employee Relations Consultants and review their work.• Handle extensive, high-profile work and serve in a Project Lead capacity.Skills/ Qualifications:• 7-10 or more years of experience in Employee Relations.• Technical expert with in-depth knowledge of corporate human resources policies and applicable laws (e.g., EEO, ADA).• Knowledge of the attorney-client privilege and preservation in investigations.• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve ER issues and provide consultation to management.• Strong listening, negotiation, and analytical skills.• Knowledge of business unit strategies and practices to identify ER and HR needs.Working Model:
