Job Title: Controller
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Overview: Join our client's dynamic team at a leading manufacturing company as a Controller. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing all accounting functions for their Grand Rapids location, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the company's continued success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly in manufacturing or related industries, and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Controller Responsibilities:
- Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and job costing activities
- Lead month-end close
- Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Utilize moderate to advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with various individuals across the organization
- Support opportunities for growth across multiple business units
Controller Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles
- Experience in manufacturing or related industries
- Familiarity with ASPE accounting standards (preferred)
- Strong understanding of job costing principles (huge plus)
- Independent, motivated, and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills
