Salary: $27 - $46 per hour

A bit about us:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team in San Antonio. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care to expectant mothers and newborns. This role requires a deep understanding of the birthing process, including the ability to assist in deliveries, manage labor complications, and provide postnatal care. You will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of both mother and baby throughout the childbirth experience.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in labor and delivery, including monitoring vital signs, fetal heart rate, and contractions.
  • Assist in the labor and delivery process, including natural births, cesarean sections, and emergency procedures.
  • Educate and support patients and their families on prenatal, labor, and postpartum care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families during the birthing process.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery or a related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
