As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will oversee the financial reporting process, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the organization's overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Invoice Processing & Payment Management: Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice verification, approval workflows, and timely payment processing to vendors and suppliers.
• Account Reconciliation & Discrepancy Resolution: Perform complex reconciliations of AP sub-ledgers to the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
• Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries, negotiating terms, and ensuring accurate payment processing.
• Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and regulatory standards in all AP processes, identifying areas for improvement and mitigating risks.
• Reporting & Financial Analysis: Prepare detailed AP reports and assist in month-end close processes, providing insights to support financial decision-making and ensure accurate financial records.

Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Relevant Experience: Proven experience in Accounts Payable or in a similar accounting role.
• Detail-oriented: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Educational Background Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Very open to equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

Location: Hybrid position based in Madison, WI
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
