Job Details

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team at our client, a reputable public accounting firm. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of accounting tasks and contribute to the accurate and timely financial reporting for multiple clients. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth and development in public accounting, with exposure to diverse industries and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Prepare and analyze general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Assist with audit preparations, including preparing workpapers and supporting documents.

Conduct reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.

Prepare tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Assist in preparing client budgets and financial forecasts.

Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for clients as needed.

Maintain organized and accurate client records and documentation.

Support the senior accounting team in managing client engagements and delivering high-quality service.

Participate in various special projects as required, including research on technical accounting matters.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA candidate preferred.

1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a related field.

Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team and interact professionally with clients.
