DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Loader Operator position reports to the Plant Manager and will be in a role of (secondary supervision) production teamwork. Primary functions are to safely charge ready mix plants and material (sand and gravel), maintain stockpile areas and to service the loader. Our Redi-Mix customers, the Batchman, and the Mixer Operators are all vital to the Loader Operators performance function and should be considered as the Loader Operator "Customers".RequirementsOperates loader to transfer material from yard to storage binsGrease the loader dailySigns and maintains raw material delivery ticketsConfirm receipt of materials before signing ticketsPerforms daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper functionRecords daily maintenance activitiesDaily pre and post trip inspections are required on the plant and loaderHelp maintain all of plant yard area for environmental complianceMaintain the area around the concrete pans.Assist in the inventory processReport any problems to maintenance personnel and managerDemonstrates good knowledge of lockout/tagout procedure required during certain proceduresPerforms preventative maintenance on conveyor belts, which charge plants, and maintains other plant equipmentAssists Batch Plant Operator and Master Maintenance Mechanic with other duties as neededCleans area around aggregate charging hoppers, load point and assist in cleaning plant and yardPrepare and maintain an area for waste concrete to produce good reusable base material.Demonstrates a good working knowledge of Company Rules and Regulations, and assures facility compliance with OSHA, DOT, TNRCC, EPA, and other regulatory agenciesAssist with training of co-workers as neededRequired to follow all safety policies and procedures, wear PPE and promote a 24/7 Safe CulturePerform other duties as required by Production CoordinatorAble to cross train in areas not limited to but including batch operators, driving mixer & heavy equipmentMust be physically capable to climb on and under conveyor belts and work in high places. Will be required to stoop, bend, and lift heavy objects such as shovels full of concrete materials etc. on a respective basisMust be able to use hand tools and grease gun to perform all phases of loader maintenanceFlexible attitude engaged in team goalsAbility to drive long distances to various locationsMust be willing to cross train throughout plant operationsSix months of experience in operation and maintenance of a front end loaderMust have class B CDL (Ready Mix driving experience preferred) Physical RequirementsAbility to climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged sitting/standing, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, push and pull objectsLift objects of various dimension and weightsAbility to operate hand controls with both handsAbility to operate foot controls with both feetAbility to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weatherAbility to work in cramped quartersAbility to work in areas with the potential for high noise levelsAbility to tolerate working at heights up to 100 feetClimb in and out of loader minimum 30 times per day, climb to 10 feet to clean loader, walk on uneven ground minimum 30 times per day up to 100 yardsClimb conveyor system 10 times per day, climb to 200" to clean and maintainRead delivery tickets, maps, etc.Use needed solvents to scrub and wash loader daily, climb over and under loader to visually inspect sameWork in confined spaces under hood, and in framework to clean loader as neededUse hand tools (wrenches, drill, etc.) to make minor repairsHear and see problem indicators that warrant attention/repairsShoveling, sweeping, picking up trash, painting and general cleanup of plant areasD.O.T. physical required Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Salary Posting: We are excited to share the base range for this position is $22.70-$35.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
