Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced small business accountant to join our team. Initial compensation will depend upon experience level. Future compensation will be largely production based. Our production based compensation allows team members earn a portion of the revenue they produce. This allows you to establish financial and personal goals with the ability to achieve them. No more working around the clock for the same old salary with no hope of a raise. As our fees increase, so does everyone's pay. Income tax experience is a huge plus, especially if you have experience reviewing and signing tax returns. Must be able to onboard new clients and clean up messy books.

Job Details:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is ready to take their career to the next level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a particular focus on financial statements, bookkeeping, and GL reconciliation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also be tasked with preparing and reviewing financial reports, and assisting with other finance-related tasks as needed. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  2. Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Perform bookkeeping duties, including managing accounts payable and receivable, and processing transactions.
  4. Conduct GL reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  5. Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate recording of debits and credits.
  6. Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial data and generate reports.
  7. Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  8. Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
  9. Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
  10. Provide support to the finance team and other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the finance industry.
  3. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  4. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  5. Experience with financial statement preparation and review, bookkeeping, and GL reconciliation.
  6. Familiarity with journal entries and the accurate recording of debits and credits.
  7. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  8. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  11. Experience working with small businesses is a plus.
