Job Description
Ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions.Prepare and review account reconciliations and analysis.Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.Assist with management of the general ledger system, including security reviews, integrity reviews and chart of accountsExecute internal controls over key areas of responsibilities.Assist in quarterly reviews, periodic audits and prepare audit schedules, as necessary.Proactively identify issues causing inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline general ledger accounting and internal reporting processes.Collaborate with treasury, tax, FP&A, business finance and operational accounting teams to ensure a smooth reporting process.Perform various monthly close processes and reportingPerform special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis, as requiredMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required3 - 5+ years of related experienceStrong attention to detailStrong knowledge general ledger & accounting principles, US GAAP and Management Reporting processes, working in various currencies across multiple legal entities.Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, along with the ability to identify exceptions and develop solutionsAbility prioritize, multi-task and meet assigned deadlineExperience using reporting and analysis software such as Hyperion FM, Hyperion Essbase, SPSS ShowCase, OutlookSoft, Cognos, SAS FM preferredFamiliarity with ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, or Peoplesoft preferredCareful attention to detail and the ability to organize.Experience with Blackline, a plusTeam player; comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and able to be flexible and collaborate with team on different projects and needsAbility and readiness to embrace and successfully implement & support changeStrong communication and analytical skills, and ability to work independently
