Job DetailsPosition: Project Manager/Estimator
Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager/Estimator to take charge of the overall planning, execution, and financial success of multiple small to medium projects, or potentially lead a large-scale project. You will be responsible for overseeing contract administration, change orders, procurement, and financial tracking, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Project Manager, you will also have the opportunity to mentor and lead a team of Project Engineers while fostering strong client relationships and exploring new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and direct projects from start to finish, ensuring all objectives are met.
Prepare accurate project estimates, scopes of work, and present proposals to clients.
Negotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing for materials and services.
Mentor Project Engineers in company processes and ensure they understand key project goals.
Establish clear project policies, objectives, and performance standards aligned with corporate policies, and communicate these effectively to on-site teams.
Manage all change orders and negotiate them successfully.
Maintain logs to track project progress, and liaise with clients and design teams to facilitate construction activities.
Work closely with on-site teams to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
Resolve issues that arise during construction, taking corrective measures when necessary.
Represent the company in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Oversee the preparation and negotiation of any change quotations.
Prepare monthly cost reports and manage all financial aspects of the contract to safeguard the company’s interests while maintaining positive client relationships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience).
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electrical project management.
Expertise in construction technology, scheduling, methods, and equipment.
Proven experience in managing teams and mentoring staff.
Experience in business development and client interaction is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with Spectrum is a plus.
Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up abilities.
Ability to work independently while fostering a positive team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
Ability to pass a Federal/State/City background check and comply with pre-employment/random drug tests.
