What you'll do

We’re looking for passionate and talented engineers to build out the machine learning platform and infrastructure that will power Docusign’s Agreement Cloud. You will help support all aspects of the machine learning lifecycle, including the research platform, training and deployment systems, and scalable serving infrastructure. Our team is responsible for building a platform that supports an international team of machine learning engineers and data scientists and can serve AI solutions to Docusign at scale.This role will be a part of the Foundations Machine Learning team at Docusign, which builds analytics products that utilize AI, machine learning, and cutting-edge CV/NLP deep learning based models to provide insights for the Docusign Agreement Cloud. Our team is distributed across the Bay Area, Seattle, and Europe and you will be working collaboratively across these teams.As a Lead Front End Software Engineer for the Docusign AI team, you are responsible for architecting and building foundational platforms of our next gen agreement analytics products and services that enable analytics & decision making throughout the entire Docusign business. You will lead our efforts with a particular focus on the related back-end development while still taking on front-end tasks. You will have proven technical ability and influence across multiple product areas as you work at the most senior levels of Docusign and regularly participate in various design and engineering reviews, demonstrating your domain area expertise.This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering.ResponsibilityLead and oversee development of multiple minor to major technologies and associated project teamsEnsure timely and high quality deliverables across multiple engineering projects and teamsLead architectural designs, discussions and decisionsIdentify complex algorithms and risks, helping drive the design of the implementation to resolve the issues across multiple featuresInfluence the direction and work of a significant portion of software engineeringCreate high quality, user focused experiences with React or NodeHelp build and design the new Micro Frontend (MFE) infrastructureCoach and mentor engineersDevelop and maintain automated tests for your codeParticipate in an Agile environment using Scrum software development practices, automated unit testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and version control systems (GIT)Raise issues proactively that might impact delivery commitmentsBe available to diagnose and resolve production-impacting issues and maintain the code as neededFocus on writing high quality code that is easy to maintain and read by others

What you bringBasic12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years related experience with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 6+ years experience; or equivalent experienceExperience building SPA and monorepo or micro frontends architectureExperience with React, Emotion, TypeScript, Webpack, Jest, PlaywrightExperience with JavaScript and TypeScript and can debug memory and performance issuesExperience with creating accessible web appsExperience coding and design in Javascript, React, Typescript, CSS, ServiceWorkers, LighthouseExperience in agile methodologiesExperience with Docker or other containerization technologiesPreferredWorking knowledge of user authentication and authorizationProficiency in building REST, GRPC, GraphQL APIsExperience leading distributed teams including offshoreProduct development experience building large scale web applicationsExperience designing and developing highly scalable consumer facing web applicationsPassionate about creating an inclusive and accessible user experienceExperience with internationalization and localizationKnowledge of micro service architecturesExperience with JVM Based Languages (Java, Kotlin) or other modern programming languagesExperience with Jenkins / Azure DevOpsPractical experience with any Cloud technologies: Kubernetes, AWS, Azure etc.

Job Designation

Hybrid:

Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

Wage Transparency

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:California: $195,500.00 - $315,775.00 base salaryWashington and New York (including NYC metro area): $186,200.00 - $276,125.00 base salaryThis role is also eligible for bonus, equity and
