Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift, 19:00 - 07:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: - Cardiac/telemetry experience - Step-down level of care expertise Job Description: - Provide care for patients post Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), post Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), post pacemaker insertion, and post cardioversions - Manage patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB), respiratory distress, Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), sepsis, stroke overflow, Altered Mental Status (AMS), endocarditis, and alcohol withdrawal - Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 - Utilize 15 bedside monitors, remote telemetry systems - Document using the Meditech Expanse Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system - Engage positively and flexibly as a team player within a 24-bed unit - Floating possible to Intermediate, Medical, Surgical, Intensive Care, and Emergency Departments, with patients fitting RN competencies - Maintain professionalism with clean scrubs (no specific color requirement) - Adhere to unit guidelines and policies for IV medications - Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (night shift: Friday/Saturday plus 2 Sundays; day shift: Saturday/Sunday plus 2 Mondays and/or Fridays) Join a dynamic team dedicated to patient-centered care, providing critical services in a fast-paced environment while enhancing your skills in cardiac and telemetry nursing.
