Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the company's objectives.
  2. Manage the entire purchasing process, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating purchase terms.
  3. Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  4. Handle RFQs, analyze quotes, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring the best possible prices and terms.
  6. Monitor market trends and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
  7. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure materials and equipment are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  8. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  9. Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
  10. Regularly review delivery schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
  11. Conduct regular supplier analysis to maintain high levels of quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent/Buyer in the construction industry.
  2. Proficiency in managing and executing purchase orders and RFQs.
  3. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers.
  4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
  5. Previous experience ordering materials, equipment, and supplies.
  6. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  7. Proficiency in using purchasing software and other related computer applications.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve vendor or contractor grievances.
