Job Details

If you enjoy leading and guiding teams following an Agile mindset, then you will be excited about the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) Release Train Engineer opening. As a Release Train Engineer, you will facilitate Agile Release Train events and processes, and supports teams in delivering value. As a Release Train Engineer you will communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement. You will be responsible for supporting the program, delivering high-quality work throughout the program lifecycle, including analyzing program delivery metrics and sharing this knowledge across multiple organizations.

• Coach teams on Agile values, principles, and SAFe® best practices

• Facilitate program meetings and planning sessions

• Partner with program/product owners and project stakeholders to clearly specify future program iteration goals

• Work with the product leadership and development teams on requirements decomposition, backlog refinement, and work effort estimation

• Partner with product owners to set delivery priorities that guide the development team to deliver the right product at the right time

• Promote program transparency by creating and communicating Agile Release Train metrics to stakeholders

• Support a learning culture by facilitating iteration reviews and retrospectives

• Recommend process improvements, through investigation and analysis, that can resolve program or team challenges

• Advocate for the delivery team’s needs

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques

• Can easily build meaningful relationships with others, including senior leadership outside of your own department, and is comfortable providing constructive feedback to your team members and management

• Be able to analyze a situation or problem, generate effective solutions, and see those solutions through to completion

• Capable of prioritizing your own tasks while making sure deadlines are met

• Recognize and understand team dynamics and how to coach others

• Be proactive in providing team performance feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others

• Be curious. Ability to diagnose and analyze business systems and workflow with the goal of improving future outcomes

Things You Must Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Management Information, or related field) or equivalent

• 6+ years of relevant experience in the software product development or telecommunications industry

• SAFe® Release Train Engineer certification

• In-depth knowledge and experience with the Essential Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®)

• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira and Confluence) to support leadership decision-making
