As a Medical Assistant Regional Float, you will work on assignment within the Traverse City Ambulatory System. Enjoy the experience of variation! With over 100 clinics in Northern Michigan, our Medical Assistants can expand their knowledge in different specialties without leaving the organization: Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, Heart & Vascular, Oncology Services, Surgical Services, Orthopedics, Urology, Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Behavioral Medicine, Quality and Medical Specialties: Sleep Medicine, Wound Care, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Occupational Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology & Rheumatology.Medical Assistants complete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic. They work alongside the provider to make sure our patients are taken care of, and the clinic runs smoothly!We have the best schedules in healthcare! Most Clinics operate during normal business hours Monday through Friday and are closed on Holidays. As a Float, there is a possibility you will be covering weekends as well which can include day shifts on Saturday and Sunday.
What’s Required:
CREDENTIALED MEDICAL ASSISTANT
High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing OrganizationCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical AssistantsRegistered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical TechnologistsCertified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Health career AssociationNational Certified Medical Assistant (NCTT) by the National Center for Competency TestingCertified Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) by the American Medical Certification AssociationOther MHC approved credentialing organization (If hired/credentialed prior to 3/1/2024 will be grandfathered in with prior credentialing body (based on review and evaluationMust meet any requirements to maintain credential and maintain credentialing throughout employment.1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant required.BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.Experience with EHR is preferred.Must be knowledgeable and proficient in basic clinical competencies.Must communicate effectively and work well with others. Assertiveness, organizational skills, effective time management, flexibility and self-motivation are essential for the role. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position such as bending, stretching, kneeling, twisting, lifting, patient transfer, pushing, and pulling, etc. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
