37.5Position SummaryAs the senior advisor to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), provides supportive oversight, direction, leadership and management for the assigned service areas to ensure the educational, research, and patient care missions of the university are executed in a cost-effective, transparent and responsive manner. Provides recommendations for planning, development and communications relative to strategic long-term planning and its implementation in areas such as Campus Services, HR, IT and other operational areas assigned. Works closely with the CAO providing high level project leadership on various endeavors. Represents the CAO to internal and external contacts. Coordinates and manages the day-to-day operations of the CAO's office.Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Develops strategic and long-term planning initiatives and goals that enable the CAO to implement a long-term vision for leading WU into the future. Leads in the effective implementation of business strategies and long-term plans that advances the university’s mission and deployment of a diverse population of people, technology, processes and systems as needed.Serves as the chief advisor to the CAO and provides information and reports as required to plan, develop and finalize effective policy and other needed decisions. Assists in serving as a lead for the CAO with responsibility for contributing to the development and implementation of various activities related to Campus Services, HR, IT and other related operational areas assigned. Provides coordination between the CAO’s office and schools, university faculty, staff, students and external contacts.Manages high-priority projects designed to achieve the university's mission and strategic vision; builds and maintains successful working relationships and coordinates with a wide range of offices, staff, and stakeholders, internal and external to the university. Establishes and nurtures highly effective relationships with internal and external constituents across all campuses.Serves as a voice for the CAO and represents in various departments, schools, and regional conversations, conveying the complexities of strategy for the university and specifically for employees, technology, infrastructure and operational areas assigned relative to development, and implementation for university priorities. Develops and participates in communicating with various leadership and employees on high-priority topics and issues.Communicates vision and decisions to the CAO's executive team, providing regular updates, performance reports and facilitating a feedback loop to continuously improve alignment and effectiveness.Develops presentations; prepares remarks for presentations, drafts reports and correspondence. Maintains presentation schedule for the CAO and manages completion of major presentations and follow-up. Supports strategic communications for the CAO.Participates in leading, developing and implementing strategic process improvement and operational change management through applying disciplined understanding and identification of root cause and effect.Analyzes data for gaps and improvements so recommendations can be made to enable leadership to break down functional silos, or barriers, and to improve overall operational efficiency.Ensures effective initiatives are carried out to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive community to better support the faculty, staff and student workplace experience meeting complex demands within budget, scope, and schedule.Monitors and reviews the CAO’s administration departments for policy, fiscal operations, and university impacts.Oversees budgetary/financial impacts and assists as requested with budget development activities including the development of analyses for expenditures and various projections. Assists administration in various cost analyses, reports, and may participate in fundraising efforts. MBA, Master's degree with eight (8) years of leadership experience, or advanced degree.Previous Chief of Staff experience.Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects simultaneously.Higher education experience or experience in a similar complicated enterprise.Experience in leading large-scale enterprise projects and strategic initiatives.Knowledge or experience in administrative services, campus services, HR, Information Systems Technology or other related operational areas.Demonstrated success working with, and an understanding of, underserved populations and their educational as well as socio-cultural needs.Grade:

Base pay is commensurate with experience. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Questions
