Director or Coordinator of Formation and Evangelization
St Barnabas is a newly formed parish developed from a merger of Holy Assumption, St. Augustine, and St. Rita parishes on the East side of West Allis. This position is being created to improve our mission of discipleship from womb to tomb. We encourage those to apply that may fit all or some of the responsibilities to be part of our growing community.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop, plan, and oversee all faith formation programs for children, youth, and adults of the parish, including sacramental preparation, and OCIA for children and adults.Recruit, train, and oversee catechists for all faith formation programs to ensure that evangelization and mission are at the heart of all programs and groups.Organize calendar, facility usage, materials, and structure for all formation ministries.Collaborate on special events for faith formation with our Director of Liturgy and Music (First Reconciliation Service, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Easter Vigil).Create opportunities for disengaged community members to encounter the love of Christ and be accompanied on a path of discipleship.Communicate program information and promote events through weekly bulletin articles, pulpit announcement, parish website, and social media.Participate in Archdiocesan sponsored events such as the Catechetical Conference, Staff Mission Days, and Equip Days.Collaborate with other staff members to foster and maintain a working environment where worship, prayer, hospitality, learning, and evangelizing are the primary motivators.Ensure that the Safe Environment requirements, policies, and mandates for parish volunteers and staff are in compliance with the Office of Safe Environment.Qualifications
QualificationsPracticing Catholic with a commitment to his/her own faith life and in good standing with the Church.Experience in evangelization, pastoral ministry, or teaching the faith.Skilled organizer and administrator of programs that incorporate volunteer contributions of all ages.Open to flexible work hours day, evening, and weekends.Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.Degree in Theology preferred.Compensation
Wage will be commensurate with final position and experience of applicants.To Apply
