Senior Analyst, Strategy and Planning

University of California San Francisco, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199

This is an extraordinary time to join one of the most dynamic and successful fundraising teams in the world at a premier healthcare institution. UCSF consistently ranks among the top 5 medical institutions in the U.S., excelling in both research and patient care across our schools and hospitals. We are looking for a detail-oriented, strategic thinker with strong project management and communication skills to contribute to a growing unit. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with visionary leaders and colleagues to advance UCSF's mission of advancing health worldwide through preeminent biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Analyst, Strategy and Planning will play a pivotal role in supporting high-level fundraising efforts that drive UCSF’s most critical initiatives, including the development of the new $4 billion UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital for San Francisco, technologies that advance science (such as AI, CRISPR, microbiome, organoids), and other programs that save patients’ lives.

In this role, you will partner closely to help senior leadership — collaborating with the office of the Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice Chancellor, Executive Director and Senior Director — to manage complex projects and produce strategic communications that advance key initiatives. You will be responsible for drafting high-impact materials, such as presentations, slide decks, meeting agendas, reports, and updates geared toward internal and external audiences. Your ability to support executives, prepare for meetings, and distill complex information into clear, actionable insights will be critical.

During your first month, you will build relationships with key team members in your unit, and across the University Development office and UCSF enterprise, while familiarizing yourself with the tools and resources necessary to support high-visibility, individualized communications. By your second month, you will be drafting concise, informative talking points, briefings, or reports that align with strategic priorities. You will collaborate on strategy with your team’s leaders, and tailor materials to the needs of diverse stakeholders.

By six months, you will be producing impactful slide decks and presentations for stakeholder meetings, as well as developing bespoke communications that distill complex information into actionable insights for key internal and external meetings. You will also begin partnering with other UDAR teams – such as Communications, Events, or frontline fundraisers – to further new projects that align with UCSF’s institutional priorities. By the end of your first year, your contributions will be critical to advancing both UCSF’s capital fundraising efforts and its broader institutional goals.
