This position sits in The Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) group is part of our Global Portfolio Division comprised of approximately 10,000 employees spanning over 70 countries. Our GPLS organization is responsible for our global product strategy organization focused on fueling the growth of Takeda through our inline portfolio strategy and focus on the life cycle management as well as on launching the future by focusing on our rich pipeline. Our key goal is to prepare to commercialize our unprecedented pipeline that includes best-in-class or in first-class therapies, many of which have complex or under-developed markets or therapy areas.
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Develop Global market access strategy and tactics for TAK-079 for assets from GI rare portfolio to ensure successful future pricing negotiations and reimbursement in countries.
Serve as the single point of contact within the broad cross-functional team for all market access considerations and activities for assigned products/indications within Therapeutic Area Franchise.
Provide early input into clinical development plan and integrated evidence plan to ensure evidence plans supports future reimbursement and pricing negotiations.
Understand access and payer needs (incl. evidence needs), offering implementable solutions to ensure payer value recognition and broad and fast patient access.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Actively engage with Global Pricing and Access (GPA) team within selected Global Product Teams to develop an integrated access and payer value strategy for each indication.
Collaborate closely with global health economics & pricing colleagues to ensure a unified GPA “one Team one voice” within the entire organization.
Represent GPA voice and position in key cross functional meetings leveraging and ensuring the right representation of GPA key experts (incl. GPA strategy, GHE, and Pricing) whenever relevant.
Partner with global product team key members (e.g. commercial, insights, medical), regions, and key countries to incorporate market access and payer value strategy into the overall global asset strategy.
Develop a comprehensive, integrated Global Market Access Plan, encompassing key access strategy, identified access scenarios, the target value profile in collaboration with GHE, payer evidence requirements, strategic pricing, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Assess and inform global evidence generation plans and anticipate HTA assessments and key evidence requirements for the targeted value positioning.
Ensure the development of a robust global payer value story with a supportive compelling evidence package, and a well-defined pricing strategy to maximize payer value recognition and to optimize patient access upon product launch.
Develop key access payer materials deliverables, such as payer value messages, global evidence dossier, payer objection handler, and disseminate to the regions.
Inform all key internal leadership governance meetings (e.g. Portfolio Review Committee (PRC), Commercialization and Launch Committee (CLC)) and ensure GPA team readiness prior to key governance meetings.
Explore and develop innovative access frameworks that consider and anticipate the evolving health care environment to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for patients, payers and Takeda.
Conduct horizon scanning and maintain an in-depth understanding of payer regulations and priorities across major markets and/or payer archetypes.
Engage with Regions and Local Operating Companies (LOCs) to incorporate external payer insights and trends into Global asset access strategy and lead training initiatives on Market Access.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in related medical/pharmaceutical/public health field (e.g., MBA, MPH, MPA, PharmD) preferred
10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience, minimum 5 years of market access/pricing experience with demonstrated success in developing market access strategies at a global, regional and local level including pricing, reimbursement and access. Rare disease experience a plus.
Strong understanding of global markets and payer environment, (e.g. HTAs, payer coverage and reimbursement, pricing and contracting, formulary management, health technology assessment and payment policy). Direct experience in payer negotiations desirable.
Strong negotiating skills and ability to develop relationships and appropriately influence internal and external stakeholders, ideally from local experience influencing and leading access and pricing negotiations in relevant geographic markets.
Excellence in strategic thinking, problems solving, analytical ability and cross-functional collaboration at global, regional and local level.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills while addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
Collaborative spirit, able to build consensus, work effectively with cross-functional teams and lead in a matrix organization.
Ability to make clear business arguments and strategic recommendations leveraging both quantitative and qualitative evidence, and make decisions with limited information.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position.
