landing page to learn more.Sr Engineering Manager, Signal DeliveryAbout the TeamContent Quality as an ML signals organization touches nearly every piece of content that comes into Pinterest and drives impact across our suite of consumer or ads products. The core mission of the team is to identify and select safe, trustworthy, and highest quality content to distribute to Pinners.RoleIn this role you’ll manage the Signal Delivery organization within Content Quality, responsible for all signal integrations. The organization has two sub-teams and has built several large tier1 signal serving systems at Pinterest. Every pin that is shown to our users is processed and selected by systems built and operated by this team. This organization works closely with machine learning signals teams to support signal processing and integrations over the entire spectrum of content - from policy violation to the best quality of content. To scale our systems we leverage Spark, Flink, and low-latency model serving infrastructure.What you’ll doResponsible for several major areas of signal integrations for more than half a billion monthly active users.Areas of impact include - signal enforcement for signals covering content safety, trustworthiness, spam, quality, and shopping.Signal enforcement includes - content removal, content selection and filtering at distribution, and use of signals in the context of surface ranking.Deeply understand the signal delivery over the entire content spectrum, and drive the vision for the organization.Mentor and grow engineers on the team.Partner with stakeholders to expand impact across the company.Provide visibility for senior leadership into the team’s global impact.Build a culture of excellence and expertise.What we’re looking for:8+ years of industry experience with minimum three years as EM.Expertise in technical leadership of a team and mentorship.Experience with setting technical vision.Experience working with multiple stakeholders in horizontal organization.Hands-on technical approach, and ability to build scalable production quality systems.Experience with large-scale distributed systems (distributed storage systems, stream processing, inference, and deployment at scale).Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark / Kafka / Flink/ Hadoop) and scalable real-time systems that process stream data.Relocation Statement:This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
