Packaging Machine Operator

Ensure the correct packaging materials are available. Ensure the correct Personal Protective Equipment is available and other safety procedures are understood and followed.Ensure the line is set up correctly per the filling and packaging instructionsOperate filling and packaging equipment continually. Types of equipment could include filler, sleeve labeler, cappers, tape machine, bar coders, ink jet printer, hand wrenches, hand stamps, palletizers, and lid presses. Adjust equipment to control weight, closures, or other as required by the specifications.Take samples and keeps area cleanActively participate in Kaizens, 5S, and special projects Continuingly identify opportunities for system and process waste elimination Complete and document activities that measure quality and productivity in an accurate and timely manner. This could include taking weights and performing basic quality tests. Enter results on paper or in electronic systems.Assist with line changeover, including the collection of wash waterMaintain a clean and safe work environment. Other duties as assignedPosition Details: Plant location: Garland, TXWork week and shift: 2nd shift - Monday to Friday - 1:30PM to 9:30PMCompensation package offered: $26.02 / hour with $0.50 shift differential for 2nd shiftMinimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment using the following equipment: filler, sleeve labeler, cappers, tape machine, bar coders, ink jet printer, hand wrenches, hand stamps, palletizers, lid presses1 year of experience working with automated processes 1 year working with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)- tablets are used in this role.No immigration sponsorship available for this role Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs Must be able to pass a drug screen and background checkPreferred Qualifications: Experience packaging liquids such as paint, food products, pharmaceuticals, or similarHazardous Materials or DOT trainingAbility to use basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals Ability to understand and track safety, quality and productivity data, including run rates, fill weights, and averages Mechanical aptitude Experience with Total Production Management (TPM) & Continuous Improvement Systems Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a teamBenefits Ecolab strives to provide comprehensive and market-competitive benefits to meet the needs of our associates and their families.
