Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU Job Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30), weekdays and every other weekend, Float, Holidays within contract Guaranteed Hours: 48-hour contract available Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred License: License preferred, must have started temporary license process prior to applying Certifications: BLS, ACLS required via American Heart Association; NIHSS required Must-Have: - EPIC proficiency- Skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips- Strong neuro experience including post brain surgery and EVD/ventriculostomy- FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, management and interpretation of dysrhythmias- Experience with multi-system organ failure, CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Impella, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, IV insulin protocols, CVVHD/CRRT, CVA/acute stroke management- Experience in management of BiPAP, CPAP, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, suctioning, ventilator management, infection prevention, use of PPE, and care for surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac- Passing EKG test with 80% or higher Job Description: - Provide specialized care for post-operative CABG adult patients and those with acute coronary conditions, NSTEMI, STEMI, CHF in an 8-bed unit.- Utilize universal bed model, managing patients from ICU level downgrading to step down until discharge.- Maintain patient ratios of 1:1-2 for comprehensive care delivery.- Preference for skills in thermoregulation, chronic/acute renal failure, accessing ports, external ventricular drains, and ICP monitoring.- Follow isolation precautions and adhere to infection prevention practices.- Handle emergency situations confidently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.- Participate in ensuring high standards of patient care and safety protocols.
