Job Title: Machinist - Horizontal & Vertical Milling SpecialistLocation: Houston, TXType of Position: ContractEnvironment: 5 days onsite, with potential for overtime and weekend workAbout the Job:We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist skilled in using Horizontal Milling, Vertical Turret Lathes, Milling Machines, and Engine Lathes. This role requires precision and attention to detail, as you'll work with instruments like calipers and micrometers to measure and calculate dimensions and tolerances accurately.Key Responsibilities:Produce machined components by referencing blueprints, sample parts, and engineering specifications.Operate various machines, including Horizontal Mills, Vertical Turret Lathes, Milling Machines, and Engine Lathes.Use mathematical skills and precision instruments, such as calipers and micrometers, to calculate dimensions and tolerances.Collaborate with quality assurance, manufacturing, and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each machining task.Inspect, measure, and test completed parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.What We're Looking For:Required:Proven experience as a Manual Machinist with valve machining experience.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.High attention to detail and precision.Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tools, and effective problem-solving skills.Preferred:Ability to follow shop instructions and work procedures accurately.Completion of Operator Safety Training for Powered Industrial Equipment.Willingness to work significant overtime, including weekends.Work Authorization:At this time, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
