Job Description
CNA 2/Health Unit Coordinator - Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Hood River Memorial Center. This posting represents a .9 FTE, night shift opening (7pm-7:30am, 3, 12-hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

Contribute to a high functioning teamAssist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfersMeasure and record vital signs, output, and weightsCollect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood testsAssist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devicesOpportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conferenceOther duties as assignedThe CNA2/HUC is a key person within the nursing unit who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; Collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit and greatly impacts the 'tone' of the unit/shift.

Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Training in a recognized health care program or Health care program: 1 year experience performing secretarial duties in healthcareCoursework/Training: Medical terminology course or equivalent educ/experienceCoursework/Training: Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or CNA 2 coursework: Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirementsUpon hire: Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification LicenseUpon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart AssociationExperience with a variety of software applicationsPreferred Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: One year of post-high school education.Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator course or Health Unit Coordinator course: Equivalent knowledgeUpon hire: National Certification Health Unit CoordinatorExperience as a preceptor/role model1 year Experience as a CNA 2
