Our Mission, Vision, and Values guide the way we do businessOur Digital Modernization Sector is seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert to support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center's (NEC) location at Fort Meade, MD.This isn't just any job. The NEC serves as the hub for operations, systems engineering, enterprise architecture, and as the technical authority for the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications within the Department of Defense. Our customer, led by the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), applies subject matter expertise and best practices to translate mission and operational requirements into solutions and operational capabilities.Your greatest work is ahead!In this SME role, you will support the NEC Mission Engineering Analysis team to conduct mission engineering studies to guide decisions focused on the end-to-end mission, to identify new or enhanced capabilities, and provide impacts of performance levels on NC3 system of systems.

system engineering expertise
to the evaluation of current capabilities and technological opportunities with the goal of enhancing and upgrading NC3 systems and sub-systems.
Produce Engineering analysis reports that recommends to SE&I logical next steps of action based on documented gaps, studies, roadmaps, plans and solution sets.
Assess NC3 systems and sub-component's ability meet the mission requirements and operate as designed through mission engineering studies.
Advise and assist the Government in the development of a transition plan for the implementation of mission engineering study recommendations.
Support vulnerability analysis of the NC3 architecture and a variety of assessments (i.e., threat assessment, performance assessment, capability assessments, platform assessment and cyber threat assessments) of the NC3 Systems.
Provide
subject matter expertise
regarding terrestrial and space-based communication systems/technologies to government and contractor team members, and stakeholders.
Assist other team members and stakeholders in identifying technical and threat-driven NC3 risks and mitigation strategies.
Periodically provide training support through briefings and lectures to NEC personnel on the various effects of nuclear weapons on communication systems.
Basic QualificationsActive Top Secret clearance with immediate SCI read-in eligibility.
Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 10+ years' experience. Relevant military training and/or NC3 SME experience will be considered in lieu of a Master's degree in other fields.
Ten (10) years' experience in the following areas:
Demonstrate high-level subject matter expertise for the primary responsibilities described herein.Providing advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments.Performing high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and training.Providing implementation advice on complex problems for effective implementation.Applying principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise.Providing advice on esoteric problems which require extensive knowledge of the subject matter.Designing and preparing technical reports, studies, and related documentation, making charts and graphs to record results, preparing and delivering presentations, training, and briefings.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of, and experience, with operations and technical characteristics of Nuclear C3 systems to include strategic communications systems, sensor and radar systems, and communications systems deployed at nuclear command centers and on nuclear capable platforms.
Prior work with Nuclear C3 community stakeholders such as Air Force, Navy, NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC), USSTRATCOM, USCYBERCOM, the Joint Staff, and OSD.
