What You'll Be Doing The Senior PMO Manager is a strategic leader responsible for managing the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and oversight of the project management office (PMO). Scope and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Strategic PMO Leadership: Lead the Project Management Office (PMO), developing strategies, processes, and methodologies for a broad range of projects, including business, IT, construction, and chemical storage (ISO tanks, gas pads, quartz storage), as well as logistics. Establish PMO governance structures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks across multiple project types, including business transformation, software implementations, and construction/chemical storage initiatives. Drive the prioritization of high-impact projects that support the organization's long-term strategic goals, whether for internal process improvements, customer-facing IT solutions, or large-scale operational initiatives. Portfolio Management and Governance: Own the governance of the entire project portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer requirements. Lead resource allocation, risk management, and budgeting efforts, overseeing the full lifecycle of projects to meet business and regulatory requirements while maintaining budgetary control. Advanced Project Management & Execution: Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale projects, including: Business projects such as process optimization, customer-focused solutions, and business process reengineering. IT projects, such as ERP implementations, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and digital transformation initiatives. Construction and chemical storage projects involving Temperature controlled warehouses, ISO tanks, gas pads, and quartz storage systems. Ensure effective integration of solutions across different business functions, such as IT, operations, logistics, safety, and finance, maintaining close coordination with all relevant stakeholders. Introduce innovative solutions for the management of complex business, IT, and chemical storage environments, driving improvements in efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Partner with senior executives and stakeholders across Operations, Finance, IT, Safety, and regulatory functions to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, tracking project deliverables, and compliance requirements. Develop and implement Request for Proposal (RFP) response processes, creating a costing methodology that ensures the organization can respond to customer RFPs with at least 80% accuracy. Ensure that cost estimates reflect the full scope of work, including IT integrations, warehouse management systems, facilities assets, business requirements, and construction or warehousing needs. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of PMO personnel, including project managers, analyst, construction managers, asset managers and logistics engineers, ensuring a high-performance culture and consistent delivery of project goals across diverse domains. Provide leadership on cross-functional projects, leveraging technical expertise in both business and chemical storage solutions to guide team members through complex regulatory and operational challenges. Foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging the team to adopt best practices in business project management, business process improvement, and chemical safety and storage. Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Champion continuous improvement initiatives across both business/IT and construction/chemical storage projects, introducing innovative project management methodologies to enhance project delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Leverage industry best practices, emerging technologies, and software solutions to improve project execution, streamline workflows, and mitigate risks in business, IT, and chemical storage domains. Promote the use of Agile and Lean methodologies where appropriate, particularly in software development and IT systems rollouts. Financial Oversight & Budgeting: Oversee the financial management of projects ensuring strict budget adherence, cost control, and financial transparency and accurate cost forecasting. Partner with finance teams to forecast project budgets and ensure accurate costing across project types. Qualifications Attributes: Strategic Leadership - Ability to lead at an executive level, providing vision and direction for large-scale projects across specialized chemical storage environments. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Proven ability to work across departments, influence stakeholders, and integrate diverse operational, engineering, and logistics teams. Subject Matter Expertise in Chemical Storage - In-depth knowledge of specific chemical storage solutions such as ISO tanks , gas pads , and quartz storage , with the ability to provide expert-level leadership in these areas. Innovation in Project Delivery - Ability to introduce innovative project management methodologies and drive continuous improvement across construction and warehouse projects. Experience and Education: Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Operations, or a related field. Master's degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPM). PMP Certification preferred, additional certifications in chemical storage or hazardous materials management highly desirable. 10 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale, cross-functional projects with at least 3 years in senior-level project leadership Demonstrated expertise in chemical storage solutions such as ISO tanks , gas pads , quartz storage , and associated logistics and safety protocols. Communication & Leadership Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information and project updates to C-suite executives, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Strong negotiation skills, particularly when dealing with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage third-party contractors, and align diverse departments toward common project objectives. Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing junior PMs and teams, driving high performance and accountability. Computer Skills: Data Analysis and Reporting: Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions (pivot tables, macros, data visualization) for budgeting, forecasting, and progress tracking. Project Management Software: Strong familiarity with leading project management tools, including MS Project and Smartsheet, for effective project scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking project milestones.
