Overview

We are seeking a full-time

Runway Desk Support Specialist 1

in our Scottsdale, AZ location. In this role, you will be responsible for making important contributions to Garmin's aircraft performance data products by analyzing data and feeding relevant information and solutions into our systems and databases.

Essential FunctionsProvide 24/7 operational support and collaborate with airports and/or customers to ensure accuracy of information and proactively identify, report, and find effective solutions to issuesMonitor all incoming and active NOTAMs (Notice of Airmen) for airports identified in runway databaseAnalyze NOTAMs/other data sources in order to maintain currency of runway databaseAnalyze incoming airport/runway data and filter appropriate information to pilots through NOTAM and into our aircraft performance systems/databasesCollaborate with airports or customers to ensure accuracy of informationMake decisions on priority and pertinence of information as it relates to aircraft performanceProactively identify and report issues, working to identify solutions to aircraft performanceEstablish relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin team members to achieve goals/objectivesProvide afterhours support related responses and can initially join customer teleconference bridgesConduct initial aircraft setup for AeroData solutions (Basic Build - New Tools)Review emails to determine and provide solution or escalate to other applicable teamsCreate tasks for Flight Operations customer support requests via the ticket systemJoin evening deployment calls and determine if issues arise and escalate as appropriateConduct initial triage of customer solutions and use internal tools to help identify issueAssist in maintenance of the Airport and Runway DatabaseProvide great customer and operational input to other Garmin teams to help improve Customer ExperienceMay be required to be on call as needed and work rotating shiftsBasic Qualifications

Associate's Degree in a business or technical discipline

AND

a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical discipline

OR

substantial demonstrated aeronautical knowledge that would allow the associate to complete the essential functions of the positionExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Ability to build relationships across departments and interact efficiently with customers across the globeDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsUnderstands escalation procedures for service outages and/or customer concernsAbility to set up Microsoft Teams live events and send out Customer Advisory Notices (MIM)Possess a critical eye for fine details in both quantitative/qualitative process/proceduresMust be detail/solution oriented, organized, proactive and a driven problem solver with exceptional technical troubleshooting skills and a multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervisionExperience and proficiency with MS Office SuiteDemonstrates familiarity with aeronautical source data for the analysis being conductedProficiency in numerical and arithmetic application for the role: Compiling data, using numbers in various formats, and utilizing this information to perform job-appropriate problem-solving and data entryDesired Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in business or technical disciplinePrivate Pilot LicensePrevious work experience in air traffic control or in aircraft dispatch
