SHIPPING/RECEIVING CLERK (Req 24 047)

Responsibilities:

Perform clerical and physical tasks associated with the receipt and shipment of material and equipment. Shipping duties involve comparing items and quantities gathered for shipment against request for shipment documents; ensuring items are properly packaged; loading items into transporting vehicles through use of forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment; and preparing and keeping records of goods shipped. Receiving duties involve verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices or other records; checking for damaged goods; staging equipment/material for shipment; and preparing and keeping records of items received. Property accountability duties involve identifying qualifying government equipment and contacting appropriate personnel for tagging.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Two (2) years work experience in a material handling/receiving/shipping operation, including Microsoft Office experience.

Other:

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card or similar medical surveillance/examiner's certificate that complies with OSHA standards. Must be able to successfully complete forklift training. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Wage Range Information:

This full-time position wage is $20.09 hourly.
