This strategic work requires streamlining and re-purposing technology across different business and distribution channels – including streaming, linear, and theatrical – so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.The Media Processing and Distribution team is looking for a candidate who specializes in caching technology, distributed networking, and operational experience in CDN edge services. This role will join the Media Engineering organization as part of the Distribution Engineering team which develops and maintains CDN configurations for all CDNs in the Disney Distribution Mesh.ResponsibilitiesOversee Day-to-Day operations of Disney Distribution MeshActively manage incidents, communicating across distribution teams, and performing root cause analysisActively review performance metrics across our caching infrastructure for improvements (in concert with operations and performance management teams)Identifying areas for tuning and adjustmentWork to solve distribution issues in concert with our operations and engineering organizationsBuild and execute frameworks for Incident, Problem and Change Management based on ITIL standardsProvide tier-2 on call evaluation, escalation and supportBasic QualificationsBS/BA requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience managing caching solutions, preferably in a Content Distribution Network environmentExperience in Content Distribution Network operations environmentsExpert knowledge of CDN Provider architectures and configurationsUnderstanding of streaming video protocols (HLS) and how it interacts with cachingAbility to perform Network TroubleshootingKnowledge of video players and impact on cache logicKnowledge of following:HTTP/DNS/Internet ArchitectureCaching (Varnish)Web Serving (NGINX, HAProxy)Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP)Scripting Languages (Python, et al)Security Protocols (SSL Certificates, TLS)Configuration Management (Ansible, AWX)Effective communication, written and verbalPassion for troubleshooting and debugging#DISNEYTECHThe hiring range for this position in New York City is $109,500 - $146,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
