Job OverviewOperating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of complex scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.

Responsibilities

Conduct review of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity.

Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout.

Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity.

Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of advanced complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution.

Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.

Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to fifteen (15) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.

Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.

Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.

Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.

Practical field experience.

Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs.

Other Job Requirements

Check or audit of wiring and loop diagrams.

Check or audit control systems models and drawings.

Develop and check control systems area and unit location plan drawings.

Perform and/or check design calculations (e.g. wire sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, junction box or panel sizing).

Perform Instrument material take-off.

Create and check advanced complexity instrument installation details.

Perform control systems design review.

Perform field surveys.

Advanced knowledge of Hexagon Smart Instrumentation software, Hexagon Smart Review software, 3D modeling software (Hexagon Smart 3D, etc.), Fluor design guides, control systems technical practices, and control systems design drawings.

Control systems representation on drawings and knowledge of 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D systems and procedures.

Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) representation; ability to recognize/resolve problems associated with control systems representation on P&ID.

Instrumentation and control systems design in a 3D model.

Review vendor data.

Preferred Qualifications

Design of Conduit / Cable Tray routing, sizing, and fill.

Cable Type selection and Cable Schedules.

Design control systems equipment layout, including in existing buildings.

Design of building cable entry transit systems.

Salary Range92,500 to 171,500.

Market RateThe market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
