Vice President of Procurement

in our Distribution Center located in

City,State . The successful applicant must be able to

oversee and lead the procurement function with the company by developing and implementing strategies that reach company goals, align with cost-effective purchasing process, and develops relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that meets company expectations.

Lead the procurement team in attaining operational effectiveness, and continual improvement.

Monitor supplier operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and contracts.

Analyze market trends and pricing models to inform procurement decisions.

Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and minimize stockouts and overstocks.

Analyze and manage inventory to reduce/prevent aging and obsolescence.

Develop and maintain key department performance metrics (e.g., stock-to-sales ratio, inventory turnover) to inform strategic decision-making.

Generate regular reports summarizing inventory performance and providing insights for improvement.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of demand planners to achieve departmental goals and enhance their skills.

Utilize advanced forecasting tools and techniques to analyze data and generate actionable insights.

Prepare and present regular reports on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and performance metrics to senior management.

Maintain best practice processes to optimize inventory management practices.

Requirements

10+ years of procurement experience.

5+ years of senior management experience in procurement.

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies.

Strong understanding of demand planning and forecasting, procurement, and fulfillment processes.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.

Passion for detail, accuracy, and efficiency.

CPIM or IBF Certification.

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred.

Proficient with enterprise-level software applications such as GP, P21, D&S Planning Software, Slim stock, Tagetik (formerly Vanguard) demand and supply planning software, Tableau, and Microsoft BI.

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Proficiency in demand planning software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and interpret trends and patterns.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Knowledge of supply chain concepts, inventory management principles, and forecasting methodologies.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Leadership abilities, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving process improvements.

Continuous learning mindset with a commitment to staying updated on industry best practices and innovations in demand planning and supply chain management.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Must pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
