We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will utilize cutting-edge AI, NLP, GenAI techniques, build predictive modeling, test rigorous hypotheses, design studies, and turn data into actionable insights. Being part of a talented team of Data Scientists with broad skills and applications, the Senior Data Scientist will work cross-functionally and collaboratively with teams across the enterprise through innovative AI, machine learning, and R&D platforms. The scope of our work includes forecasting, predictive modeling, designing business experiments, and ROI studies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with healthcare data, demonstrated innovative, and creative methods for overcoming testing constraints, as well as successfully applying AI, NLP, GenAI, and machine learning techniques to address business needs.The Senior Data Scientist uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. The Senior Data Scientist's work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.The Senior Data Scientist develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting. Creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics. The Senior Data Scientist creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics. This role influences department's strategy, contributes to the decision making on complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and works on model building use cases with minimal supervision. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will:Develop and validate machine learning and statistical models, predictions, reports, and presentations to support business strategy and tacticsDevelop, maintain, and collect structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reportingResearch and evaluate innovative analytical methodologies, approaches, and solutionsCollaborate with analytics and data teams to set objectives, approaches, and work plansInterpret and communicate analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partnersUnderstand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areasCompile and present regular and ad-hoc project status reportsRequired QualificationsMaster's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field3+ years of experience in advanced data analyticsDemonstrated experience in working with assignments that involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors with Python, R, SAS, SQL, DataRobot or similar statistical and scripting toolsExperience developing and validating machine learning and statistical forecasting models or predictive models, including Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Neural Networks, cluster analysis, regression analysis, time series, and forecastingExperience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reportingExperience interpreting and communicating analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partnersAbility to exercise independent judgment and decision making on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project componentsNaturally curious and comfortable with ambiguity and demonstrate critical thinkingClear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex methodologies and analytical results to non-technical business insightsStrong interpersonal and consulting skillsPreferred QualificationsPhD in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics and/or related quantitative fieldHealthcare or managed care experienceExperience in Natural Language Processing (NLP)Experience developing and tuning LLM applications, utilizing GPT, LLAMA, or other modelsExperience in health economics, test & learn, and/or experiment designExperience building large-scale predictive modelsExperience building visualization and reports using Tableau or Power BIExperience in Big Data environment specifically PySpark and/or DatabricksExperience in cloud computing, Azure or AWSExperience in deep learning and recommendationExperience in cost of care and trend analysisActuarial background or experienceWork-At-Home RequirementsTo ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggestedSatellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadershipEmployees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA informationScheduled Weekly Hours40Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $104,800 - $144,300 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
