Company OverviewBTE Management Co owns & operates franchises of the Original Pancake House. BTE was founded in 2009 and is still owned by its original owners. Their first franchise opened in Puyallup, WA in June, 2009. The owners believe in building a work environment that fosters strong working relationships & accountability. The mission at BTE is to ‘connect with people & brighten their day’. It is our constant goal to achieve this mission amongst our staff & guests alike. BTE Management Co currently operates 11 OPH franchises. Each of these teams work together, supporting each other along the way.

AvailabilityAll potential applicants should be available & willing to work weekends. This is a basic requirement of our management team due to the nature of being a breakfast-only restaurant. The Original Pancake House operates 363 days a year, closed on Christmas Day & Thanksgiving Day. We are open Monday through Friday 7am-2pm, Saturday & Sunday 7am-3pm. No evenings!

General Manager ResponsibilitiesGeneral Managers will work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Depending on the time of year & business demands, GMs are full-time salaried employees with starting pay of $65,000 - $70,000 per year, subject to restaurant location & region. In addition to their base annual salary, all GMs have an opportunity to earn quarterly bonuses based on growth of the business & performance with an aggressive bonus structure. All full-time salaried employees will be eligible for company-sponsored health benefits, a company-matched 401K program, sick time accrual & paid vacation each year.

Required Training/Experience

College degree is not necessary, but preferred.

Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in the service industry, preferably a full-service restaurant.

Must possess detailed knowledge of front and back of house management & strong communication skills.

Must be proficient in ordering, inventory management, scheduling, employee development, staff training, and guest service.

Must possess leadership skills that encourage personal and professional achievement.

Responsible for fostering a positive, upbeat workplace culture while upholding company policies and expectations.

Main ResponsibilitiesAt The Original Pancake House, the General Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant, must provide exceptional customer service, cultivate a positive & nurturing work environment, while proactively developing & managing all members of the staff, both front & back of house.

In collaboration with the Assistant Manager & Kitchen Manager, the General Manager must hire, train, develop, coach & disciple staff. General Managers should lead their team by example to uphold company standards & expectations on a daily basis.

As the General Manager it is your full responsibility to complete all required administrative work in a timely manner, while remaining available for guests & employees during open business hours. It is your responsibility to manage your time accordingly, even if that means working outside of normal operating hours.

PresentationManagers must always present themselves professionally. Management attire is business casual (clothes should be comfortable yet professional – no jeans).

Attendance & PromptnessAs the General Manager, it is the goal & the expectation that you assume full responsibility for the overall performance of your location – at all times, on all days. GMs are expected to work their assigned 5-day work schedule, as well as any additional time related to the planning & operation of the business (staff meetings, training, scheduling, etc.). A manager is required to be on site at all times during hours of operations when employees are on the premises, must arrive on time & work the entirety of their shift. Salaried managers are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with some weeks requiring more hours based on the business needs.

CompensationGeneral Managers will receive a starting base salary, paid weekly on Fridays ($65,000 - $70,000). GMs are eligible for quarterly bonuses. Any raises or salary modifications will be given based on performance and are at the subjective will of the ownership and management team.

Paid Sick Time - All employees accrue sick time in accordance with New York State requirements, 1 hour accrued per 30 hours worked.
