We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this is an exciting opportunity to lead the build-out of the MSL function. This role will act as a scientific expert and strategic partner between our company and the healthcare community. It will engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinical investigational sites, provide clinical and scientific support, and facilitate the exchange of information about our products in development across therapeutic areas.Key Responsibilities
As the first member of the team, this role will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to build out the MSL/medical affairs function. It is a remote position that will have nationwide responsibility.Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and KOLs to provide expert scientific and clinical insights. Identify key KOLs at the local, regional and national levels.Deliver accurate and relevant information regarding the company’s assets in development, and targeted therapeutic areas to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.Assist in identifying and engaging potential clinical trial sites and investigators; provide support during study initiation and execution.Collaborate with patient advocacy organizations to understand patient needs, gather feedback, and support initiatives that enhance patient care.Conduct training sessions for internal teams on scientific data and product knowledge; support peers with medical insights.Gather insights and market intelligence from healthcare professionals to inform company strategy, product development, and marketing initiatives.Support development of advisory boards and key medical education initiatives as needed, reporting back and summarizing key discussions and takeaways for internal teams in concert with the clinical science teams.Respond to scientific inquiries from HCPs utilizing approved materials and resources.Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations and company policies; maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry guidelines.Person Specification
A Doctorate level scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) is required.5-10 years of relevant scientific experience or clinical experience, with at least 3 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in medical affairs.Experience in haematological diseases would be advantageous.Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.Ability to analyze and interpret complex scientific data.Proficiency in building relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals.Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance.Must hold a valid US driver’s license and be able to travel.Essential Physical Requirements
