We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of legal matters relating to workers' compensation defense. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases and engage in complex legal matters. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of seasoned attorneys, providing legal advice and services to our diverse clientele. This is a permanent position and offers an excellent opportunity for career progression.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue for the prosecution against defendants in workers' compensation cases.
- Prepare legal briefs, motions, pleadings, appeals, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to advise clients or to prepare cases.
- Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits.
- Negotiate settlements of civil disputes in the best interest of clients.
- Confer with colleagues to establish and verify bases for legal proceedings.
- Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
- Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Maintain and develop client relationships with a view to securing repeat business.
- Stay updated with the latest legal trends, laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in the state and in good standing.
- 2+ years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on defense and workers' compensation.
- Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex legal issues.
- Ability to manage a high caseload and work within strict deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
