American Woodmark Corporations is a kitchen, bath and storage cabinet manufacturer headquartered in Winchester, VA. Our Hamlet, NC plant is going through a major expansion to become the Bath Center of Excellence in January 2024. The company operates several manufacturing and distribution facilities as well as service centers across North America and in Mexico.A Material Handler I is needed for our plant expansion located in Hamlet, NC near Rockingham, NC. The Hamlet plant is building a new 300,000 square foot Distribution Center and adding more distribution workers to support the expansion. This position will report to the Material Handler Supervisor and will work Monday through Thursday from 6 am to 4:30 pm with limited overtime on Fridays, as needed.Job Title: Material Handler 1No. of Positions: 2Hourly/Salary: HourlyGrade Level: BN1Status: Full-timeDepartment: Materials Receiving Reports to: Bruce LandonSchedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm (some overtime on Fridays)SUMMARY:The Forklift Operator position is responsible for making preparations for shipping and unloading all trucks and taking full responsibly of making sure all incoming and outgoing shipments are correct. They will be required to complete all responsibilities in accordance with SOX Compliance Standards.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with checking in all orders and paying close attention to detail when viewing labeling and pallet contentsCompares, identifies information and counts, and measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other recordsAffixes shipping labels on packed cartons and ensure all labeling is correct with back-flushing labelsAssist with unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages on paperwork, and relays information to the receiving clerkExamines incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure shipments and materials documentation matchCreate and process Bill of Ladings and ensure all paperwork documents are correctAssists truck drivers by checking them in and out in a timely manner, and ensure signatures of all bills of ladingMove pallets to designated holding locations by operating a forkliftWill occasionally lift and carry from 5 to 75 lbs. within 3 to 10 ft.Will occasionally push and pull 40 to 50 lbs. of parts on manual pallet jack within 10 to15 ft.Consistently deliver the best in customer service.
