2 hours to Indianapolis 3 hours to Chicago, Detroit, Columbus & Cincinnati 100 miles to Indianapolis, South Bend & Toledo Med School, FM Residency & Fellowship Programs Candidates are required to have completed a heart transplant-specific fellowship as approved by UNOS, or they can qualify through an experience route requiring 20+ transplants as primary or first assist over a two to five year period, plus three procurements during that time and ongoing competencies being actively involved in heart transplantation within the previous two years by following post-transplant patients for three months and actively participating in a UNOS approved transplant program.
