OverviewSt. Lukes Health–Sugar Land Hospital offers the latest technology and treatments for residents of Fort Bend County and Southwest Houston. Since 2008 our experienced doctors nurses and support staff have provided expert care to support our community.ResponsibilitiesPerforms ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the directionof the Medical Director; Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care tocompletion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging test inclusive of positioning patient, equipmentmanagement, and documentation of findings.Performs ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under thedirection of the Medical DirectorPrepares equipment ensuring that it is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standardsProblem‐solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CES regardingequipment problemsEnsures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before/during/ after each procedure, and thatspecial precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standardsCompletes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintainedCompletes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary suppliesrequired to perform the procedureDemonstrates competency in PACS process and Performs the daily QA processActively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non‐routine, urgent, and emergent patient exams.Communicates with Patient Transportation, Nursing Units, Physician Offices, and other diagnostic areas to ensurethat the patients receive their diagnostic procedures in a smooth, efficient and safe mannerPerforms portable examinations (when applicable) at the bedside to ensure patient safety as well as provideimmediate diagnostic testing when neededUses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical,pathological, diagnostic information and imagesUses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to Accurately differentiate between normal andpathologic findingsAnalyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information with medical history, and communicates findings to theappropriate physicianAssumes responsibility for the safety, emotional and physical comfort of patients while they are in thesonographers careAssists with the daily operations of the ultrasound suitePerforms clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinationsMaintains a daily log of patient’s seen/ completes exam‐billing formsMaintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and Maintains adequate suppliesParticipates in the maintenance of the ultrasound accreditationQualificationsRequired:Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRTCPR/BLS certificationPreferred:Associate’s DegreePay Range$33.60 - $48.73 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
