Job Summary:

The Product Owner - Common Data will be a key member of the product team, focused on constructing a new Data Platform. This individual will play a critical role in defining market requirements and packaging features into product releases. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new features, managing the product backlog, and ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations. The Product Owner will also participate in risk mitigation, user acceptance, and the documentation of training materials.

Key Responsibilities:

•Serve as a product owner on an Agile development team.

•Define, document, and communicate requirements for strategic initiatives based on stakeholder input and research.

•Translate business requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new features and enhance existing functionality.

•Manage the intake of enhancements, ensuring problem definition completeness and solution feasibility.

•Manage technical debt items and maintain a complete and prioritized backlog.

•Participate in issue/risk mitigation and creative solutioning to meet delivery constraints.

•Communicate project risks and changes to delivery timelines.

•Support system user acceptance and create product documentation (release notes, user guides).

•Organize and conduct product demonstrations for stakeholders.

•Participate in production support, including issue reproduction and gap analysis.

•Plan and prioritize product backlog and software development, aligning with MVP models.

•Work with Product Manager to translate roadmap features into development criteria.

•Collaborate with technical leads to ensure software meets functional specifications.

•Participate in user acceptance testing and systems sign-off.

•Communicate potential risks to product managers.

•Facilitate collaboration through Technical Domain Forums, fostering teamwork across product, engineering, and stakeholder teams.

•Synthesize technical communications for executive-level presentations.

•Disseminate product vision and strategy across teams.

•Utilize agile scrum methodologies in product development.

Required Qualifications:

•3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Project Manager with AS400 or iSeries platform projects.

•Bachelor's degree.

•3+ years of experience in healthcare, IT business analysis, and/or product management.

•Experience working with data engineering teams.

•Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks.

•Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

•Strong analytical and research skills.

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Visio).

Preferred Qualifications:

•Degree in a technical or related field.

•Understanding of healthcare data formats (e.g., eligibility, claims, configuration, authorizations, clinical data).

•Experience with SQL, Python, statistical software, or similar programming languages.

•Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).

•Experience writing product documentation (release notes, user guides).

•Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
