Network Technician

Job Description :We are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Technician to join our team within network infrastructure deployment on a temporary basis.The candidate will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the expansion of our next-generation networks.The position responsibilities will include scaling support of several data center locations and be responsible for day-to-day assistance with capacity management.The Network Technician will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers.Responsibilities:Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflowCollaborate with various stake holders to remove project obstaclesTravel within the Virginia region will be required.Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interactionComplete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardwareQualifications0-2 years of relevant experience.Excellent analytical skills.Ethernet and IP networking knowledge and experience in the application of IP protocols.Substantial background in large scale datacentre network implementations and support.Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environmentsOther Qualifications & ResponsibilitiesExperience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.Effective prioritization and time management.Physical requirements-The ability to sit in front of computer for entire scheduled 8-hour shift with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail.Ability to move and lift computer equipment up to 35lbsCandidate RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS:Manager is looking for someone with Cabling experience and Sever racks intake experience.1+ years of data center experience1+ years of Linux troubleshooting, such as, firmware flashes, and bios configuration experienceKnowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologiesKnowledge of TCP/IP networks, and networking.Install, test, inventory, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cordsYears of Experience:1 years data center experience1 years of IT experienceDegree or Certification:Network plus or A+ certificationAssociate's in information technologyLeadership Principle:Bias for Action, Invent and Simplify, Deliver Results, OwnershipTop 3 must-have hard skills:Data Centerfiber optic and copper cablingServer rack install and networkingTekWissen Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.
